Home Modifications

We can work together with the participant, their families, and their occupational therapist (OT) to understand other assistive technologies tailored to the participant's needs.

These are custom-built changes to a participant’s home to help them access and use areas of their home & they can be minor changes, or they can be more complex.

Transitioning to your Forever Home

Once you have secured Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding, the next step is transitioning into your forever home.

Below, we have broken this process into simple steps.

1. Like any other Tenant renting a home, you can explore housing options, view photos or take a tour.
2. If you like the home, you or your SC can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with your preferred SDA housing provider.
3. You can start packing up now! This is also where any home modifications will take place.
4. Once your SDA funding has been approved by NDIA, your SC can you help you start looking for a home that you would like to live in.
   
5. Once you have secured SDA funding and have chosen your new home, you will then sign a Residential Tenancy Agreement with your SDA housing provider.
6. Pick up your bags & move into your Forever Home. It's now time to enjoy your new home!
